GOLD DIPPED FLAIRS & GIVEAWAY

Hey you'll! I hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday afternoon. I wanted to pop in with a little SURPRISE and show you another tutorial that might just make the golddiggers swoon.

I mentioned in my last tutorial, DIY: PRINTABLE PLANNER STICKERS, that I'm obsessed with my planner and all the accessories that come with it. Pens, washi tape, sticky notes, pretty colorful pages. I am really obsessed with my favorite pens, Papermate Flairs. I love these colorful guys. Their felt tip marker/pens that will not bleed through the finest papers. Seriously I use them on 20lb and haven't had a problem yet! I purchased mine here.

While I was at Staples I also picked up another new Sharpie in metallic gold. Man I love these things! First of all Sharpies are just great but a gold Sharpie is a must have accessory. Seriousely I tote mine everywhere. And yes, I do realize that may be a little strange but you just never know when you will need to spin gold, baby! :)

It didn't take me long to realize that my Flairs needed a little well...flair. Gold flair that is. Don't we all just love gold flair? I think I might need an intervention. I have painted toys, furniture, and DIYed some word art, so needless to say I might need someone to takeaway my Krylon and Sharpies. Ahhh! Just the thought of that makes me cringe.

Anywho..my flairs got a little makeover. In less than 5 minutes I created a faux gold dipped effect by coloring the end tips with my metallic Sharpie.

Let's take a closer look...

Ahhh...my flairs.

I used a bit of washi to tape off the ends of my pens.

Then I just colored them with my metallic gold Shaprie.

I even did my metal clips on the pen lids..just to be matchy matchy! Is your mind blown yet? Well it's about to be when you see what's next.

Here are my gold dipped pens and can I even say dipped when they weren't? Yep I can...it's my blog, yo!

Adorbs, right? I think so! Nothing like a little dab of gold flair to make this colorful pens swoon worthy. A small DIY for some big impact.

Now comes the mind blowing part. I'M GIVING AWAY A 12 PACK OF PAPERMATE FLAIRS. Gold dipped or not your choice! Yep that's right. If your the lucky winner you can choose to have you flairs delivered to you in their prestine new package or you can have a little golden goodness done by yours truly. I'll even wrap them up in nice shiny bow!

    1. Oh girl...me and you both. Last month my family and I decided to go clean. I have several post about it if your interested. However, we are really loving our new life style and we feel fabulous. We started hiking and so far have hiked 10 miles in two weeks. I can't help but say I am proud of myself but I lose weight so slowly I would love to find something to speed it up. Any tips? Are you following any strict plan or diet?

    2. I am trying my best to break a BAD Dr. Pepper habit! We have five kids and a huge garden, so we eat fairly healthy and additionally, I shop on the "perimeter" of the grocery; that's about the extent of the plan. Also, we are doing "meaty Monday" as opposed to meat-less, so other than Mondays we have little to no meat (so much easier than one might think). The garden makes for good exercise, as well as regular exercise (elliptical) and yoga. I imagine if I replaced Dr Pepper with water COMPLETELY, I would have much better results. Again, it is a problem :) You have an awesome site and I have been looking through gradually and learning much and really enjoying it a lot! I wish us both great success and reward or hard work!! xo

    1. So you're a teacher? I got my teacher certificate and would love to find a great job when my all of my babies go to school. I thought I would homeschool but man is it tough teaching your own children. A lot harder than one might think. My son is doing much better in the public school system. I don't know what that says about my teaching abilities. Kudos to you're new filing system. Send me some pics when you get it all fixed up.

    1. Me too Sara! I doubt that will happen. I have a little gals 4th birthday party to host. And we all know hosting parties are more work than fun. I'm trying to keep it low key this year. Just a fire and backyard hot dog and smore roast with the fam. Maybe I can just curl up and hang out.
