Cooking | How I Feed My Family of Seven for under $400 a Month! July 2016 Grocery Haul

Hello and happy Tuesday. I'm sharing my monthly meal plan and grocery list with all of you frugal mamas out there. I'm excited to share more tips and helpful things like this on my blog/vlog. I have high hopes to share more "real life" help! We all need that, right?

This month I set aside $400 for groceries, sometimes it's less and sometimes it's more it just depends on what our finances are at the time and what we need and don't! I usually stock up on sales when I see them. We also have a garden coming in right now as well as 200 lbs of fresh pork we just had processed that helped for sure when it came to meal planning this month.

I usually try to meal plan before I grocery shop, at least for dinners! I can wing breakfast and lunch a lot better than supper. I usually meal plan for two weeks and then multiply that by two so that each meal can be made twice. And TA-DA a whole month of meals!

I've created a FREE monthly meal plan sheet for your personal use! Enjoy!

Click here to download your FREE Copy of this Monthly Meal Plan

I print a copy out and sit down with my tablet and/or trusted cook book. I jot down our family favorites and I usually try to find several new or rarely used recipes to fill in. Note: My meal plan is subject to change if I find meat on sale or if the meals I planned aren't budget friendly for some reason.

After I am finished meal planning I make a grocery list of what I need to buy. Taking into consideration the amount of meat, sides, etc to complete one months worth of meals.

Watch the video to see how I buy ONE MONTH'S WORTH OF GROCERIES!

I have had a lot of people ask how I budget and save money on shopping for our family so I hope to have some more meal planning videos posted soon so stay tuned for more yummy fun and ways to save! I also will be doing more vlogging in general because it's much easier to throw up the camera and record my thoughts while they are happening than to sit down and type everything out. Busy mom life at it's best!

My ultimate goal here is to encourage you mamas or dads that groceries don't have to cost an arm and a leg. There are ways to save! Planning and prepping and stocking up help so much! Next month I will be putting together a "Once a Month Meal Plan and Freezer Cooking Pack" it will "hopefully" have everything you need to plan, prep, and package your entire month of meals! Mostly dinners but it will have several breakfast and lunch ideas too.

Please let me know if you have any specific meal ideas you would like to see in the pack! It will include a meal plan, grocery list, supply list, and step by step instructions on how to spend one day cooking for an entire month!

Be sure to subscribe to my blog and follow my on Facebook for more information on that!

Memory Keeping | The Twins Album Part 1

It's almost been a whole year since the twins arrival. I can not believe how fast it has come and gone. In a few weeks we will celebrate their birthday and my ultimate wish for their party is to have their "first year" album completed. But as of right now I'm no where near done. :(

The month after they were born I worked on their birth story a bit but since September of last year I haven't done much to the album. Didn't have time to do it. As you can guess having twin babies and a total of 5 little ones doesn't allow for much crafty time.

But last weekend I gathered all my supplies for a one day crop and this was one of my projects I took. I'm so determined to have it finished so that it can be passed around at their birthday party.

So here is where I am right now...

I chose this Project Life album (purchased at Michael's for around $10 with coupon). I like the pattern and color a lot and navy can be for both girl and boy, right?

I orginally had this page in a smaller "pregnancy journal" but ripped all of those pages out to put them in this album. I wanted to have the whole story in one place. Inside this little pocket, which I cut with my Silhouette Portrait, is a letter I wrote the twins about finding out I was pregnant with them. It also has a wrapped up pregnancy test. I know that may sound gross but I kept all of my pregnancy test from all of my babies.

This page is another I ripped from my journal. It's another envelope, made from the envelopes used for our baby shower invitations. Inside; our week 14 ultrasound photos. And slid in between the envelope and the patterned paper are these Studio Calico cards. I thought they were fitting for announcing the sex of both babies. So cute, huh?

Another cut from Silhouette. This page has another envelope with some more ultrasound photos. From week 17. Also a baby bump photo. Finally starting to look mega preggers here!

This little bag was given to us at our 3D ultrasound and I just decided to whole punch and keep all that in here too! Now everything is one place.

Okay so I know I'm missing a few things here, shower photos, room pictures, more baby bump photos. Don't worry those are coming and will probably slide somewhere in between these few pages.

But this starts the story of labor and delivery.

I kept a lot from the hospital. This has to be one of my favorite tho! The mask that Cole wore in the operating room. I managed to have a vaginal birth but with any twin delivery you have to deliver in the OR just in case something goes wrong and they have to do an emergency c-section. We were close but luckily that didn't happen.

 First born, Nola June.

I kept the hospital's copy of the birth certificate here. Just in a simple page protector. I used red line tape so it's not going anywhere.

This is my actual copy of the birth certificate. I know it's not the most usual and safe place for it but at least I know where it is and it fits so perfect in here!!!

Hats are here too. And LOTS of bracelets!!!

 Next up, Stihl Stevenson.

And then there were two! Of everything!

The story of announcing your arrival! I also I had a page done for our first breastfeeding but those are personal and graphic pictures that I would much rather keep private! But trust me the page looks so adorable.

One major story of  their arrival is how exhausted I was. I slept, and slept and slept but didn't really sleep if you know what I mean.

An adventure it is!!!

Where was daddy? Well taking all of these photos of course.

Wow two hours a day to rest! Thanks so much! Just a little card I kept from the hospital room.

Like I said I'm nowhere near finished with this album. I have about 10 months of photos and memorabilia to put together and only a couple of weeks to get it done! Nothing like challenging yourself to spark motivation and creativity.

How about you? Working on any memory keeping projects? Babies Album? I'd love to see so link up or leave a photo!

Lots of love
