Five Reasons I am Addicted to Traveler's Notebooks

5 Reasons I'm Obsessed with Traveler's Notebooks

I recently found the world of travelers notebooks and I am addicted.

I certainly don't know all the ins and outs of it yet but here are my top five reasons I'm obsessed with traveler's notebooks:

#1 EASY TO MAKE
You can make inserts within minutes. By using some simple grid paper or cardstock you can put together a beautiful insert that that will give you ample room to illustrate or journal your artwork. I like to make mine small enough to complete within a a few days. Actually completing an insert makes me happy!!!

#2 AFFORDABLE
Since the materials you need to make inserts are readily available and for cheap, creating inserts is not only super easy it's really cost effective.

#3 VERSATILE
The possibilities are truly endless. These inserts can be adapted and uses for anything. I've seen people use them for planners, smash pages, scrapbook layouts, art journaling, Bible notes, and even as simple as a grocery list.

#4 SIZE
The sleek and slender size of the inserts are appealing and great for traveling or tucking away in you Bible case. I like to pull mine out at Bible study and make notes, I also carry one in my purse for brain dumping.

#5 A GROWING COMMUNITY
Okay, so I know the world of traveler's notebooks isn't new but it's new to me and I feel like ever since finding the world of TNs it it has grown so much. It seems like everyone and every company is taking on the trend right now. And with more people interested the collection of products to try is growing rapidly.

MEMORY KEEPING | Week in the Life 2016 Walk Through of Monday & Tuesday

So I'm finally getting around to sharing my Week in the Life album with you guys. It's been done since July but I'm just now getting around to photographing and sharing it here on the blog. I did share some of my photos and words from a few days of the week back in May but I wanted to get a completed walk through posted here for you all.

I love looking at other's memory keeping projects so I thought I'd share mine so that it might inspire some of you to get on board with documenting your life this way. I'm all for creating new scrapbook friends. And if you already scrapbook, good for you! Have you tried this project yet? Comment down below if you have a link to yours, I'd love to check it out.

In case you've never heard of this project just click here (Ali Edwards | Week in the Life)... I'll let Ali, the creator of this project, tell you about it.

I love Ali Edwards and her brand of crafting goodies so it's no shock, as a loyal fan and customer, that I would do this documenting project. I'm pretty sure it's my favorite memory keeping project I've ever done. I've put together three WITL albums over the past three years and every time I do it I fall a little more in love with the process, the products, and most importantly the people and stories that of course are the why and reason to do this in the first place.

This was the first year I have ever purchased one of Ali's Week in the Life kits. IT MADE THE DIFFERENCE!!! The year's I attempted to do this project with out a good kit were difficult. However, with Ali's kit this project was easier to manage and more exciting to do. Along with the purchase of the kit comes a class room where you can chit chat with others that are doing this project as well and it was and is so awesome. It's so fun to find people that share your same hobbies!

Okay so without further rambling... here is the finished album! I've separated this walk through into  three parts. There's a ton of photos and inspiration and I didn't want to overload you. Let me know what you think in the comments and again if you've completed your album (or if you are a scrapbooker) leave a message down below so I can find your album, I would love to look at it.

Hope you enjoyed this peek at my Week in the Life Album. Stay tuned for Wednesday thru Sundays pages, coming soon! And I will have a video of all the pages together on my Youtube channel.

Memory Keeping | The Twins Album Part 1

It's almost been a whole year since the twins arrival. I can not believe how fast it has come and gone. In a few weeks we will celebrate their birthday and my ultimate wish for their party is to have their "first year" album completed. But as of right now I'm no where near done. :(

The month after they were born I worked on their birth story a bit but since September of last year I haven't done much to the album. Didn't have time to do it. As you can guess having twin babies and a total of 5 little ones doesn't allow for much crafty time.

But last weekend I gathered all my supplies for a one day crop and this was one of my projects I took. I'm so determined to have it finished so that it can be passed around at their birthday party.

So here is where I am right now...

I chose this Project Life album (purchased at Michael's for around $10 with coupon). I like the pattern and color a lot and navy can be for both girl and boy, right?

I orginally had this page in a smaller "pregnancy journal" but ripped all of those pages out to put them in this album. I wanted to have the whole story in one place. Inside this little pocket, which I cut with my Silhouette Portrait, is a letter I wrote the twins about finding out I was pregnant with them. It also has a wrapped up pregnancy test. I know that may sound gross but I kept all of my pregnancy test from all of my babies.

This page is another I ripped from my journal. It's another envelope, made from the envelopes used for our baby shower invitations. Inside; our week 14 ultrasound photos. And slid in between the envelope and the patterned paper are these Studio Calico cards. I thought they were fitting for announcing the sex of both babies. So cute, huh?

Another cut from Silhouette. This page has another envelope with some more ultrasound photos. From week 17. Also a baby bump photo. Finally starting to look mega preggers here!

This little bag was given to us at our 3D ultrasound and I just decided to whole punch and keep all that in here too! Now everything is one place.

Okay so I know I'm missing a few things here, shower photos, room pictures, more baby bump photos. Don't worry those are coming and will probably slide somewhere in between these few pages.

But this starts the story of labor and delivery.

I kept a lot from the hospital. This has to be one of my favorite tho! The mask that Cole wore in the operating room. I managed to have a vaginal birth but with any twin delivery you have to deliver in the OR just in case something goes wrong and they have to do an emergency c-section. We were close but luckily that didn't happen.

 First born, Nola June.

I kept the hospital's copy of the birth certificate here. Just in a simple page protector. I used red line tape so it's not going anywhere.

This is my actual copy of the birth certificate. I know it's not the most usual and safe place for it but at least I know where it is and it fits so perfect in here!!!

Hats are here too. And LOTS of bracelets!!!

 Next up, Stihl Stevenson.

And then there were two! Of everything!

The story of announcing your arrival! I also I had a page done for our first breastfeeding but those are personal and graphic pictures that I would much rather keep private! But trust me the page looks so adorable.

One major story of  their arrival is how exhausted I was. I slept, and slept and slept but didn't really sleep if you know what I mean.

An adventure it is!!!

Where was daddy? Well taking all of these photos of course.

Wow two hours a day to rest! Thanks so much! Just a little card I kept from the hospital room.

Like I said I'm nowhere near finished with this album. I have about 10 months of photos and memorabilia to put together and only a couple of weeks to get it done! Nothing like challenging yourself to spark motivation and creativity.

How about you? Working on any memory keeping projects? Babies Album? I'd love to see so link up or leave a photo!

Lots of love
-S
